Aldiは、20か国で10,000を超える店舗を運営し、推定総売上高が500億ユーロを超える、ドイツの2つの多国籍家族経営のディスカウントスーパーマーケットチェーンの一般的なブランド名です。このチェーンは、1946年にカールとテオアルブレヒト兄弟がエッセンの母親の店を引き継いだときに設立されました。事業は1960年に2つの別々のグループに分割され、後にエッセンに本社を置くAldi Nordと、ミュールハイムに本社を置くAldiSüdになりました。
